The Libraries' instructional program offers multiple approaches to meet the diverse needs of the University community. Librarians offer hands-on instruction in our Bartle Library and Science Library computer instruction labs where students can learn effective research strategies, practice using online sources, and critically evaluate the sources they find. Classes are customized to meet the goals and objectives of the course and student needs.
Library instruction sessions are available for campus and SUNY programs such as Discovery, Scholars, EOP, ESL, and Empire College. Sessions can also be tailored for Binghamton University offices and staff. Contact Angelique Jenks-Brown (607-777-4596) for more information.
Individualized sessions in specialized resources are available from your Subject Librarian. You can contact them directly, or use the One-on-One help form to request assistance. General sessions for individuals or small groups of faculty, students, or staff on getting started with their research and using the library catalog, and periodical databases is available. Contact Alesia McManus (607-777-4122).
At the beginning of the fall semester, library tours of the Glenn G. Bartle and Science Libraries are offered to graduate, transfer, and international students to introduce them to the University Libraries' services and resources.
Tour information is provided to students at their orientation sessions. Tours may also be arranged by contacting Alesia McManus (607-777-4122).
